We have included content from the full commercial course (RePL) to create a course for those who don't quite require the full licence.  Our students generally complete the online component in 1-2 days with our online learning platform, combined with a full-day of practical training to the full <7kg RePL CASA standard. Our gst-free courses and packages are able to be financed interest-free. This course is recognised by Droneit as credit towards your RePL should you decide to complete it in the future. That means you can simply upgrade in future and you would have already completed half the RePL.

The Sub 2Kg Light Commercial course is a great way for hobbyists to enter the drone industry and get insured to fly drones commercially under 2Kg. The course makes up approximately half of the full commercial course (RePL) in order to suit your needs to operate in Australia. 


ο»ΏThe Sub 2Kg Light Commercial course offers online theory modules through videos, manuals, access to additional resources and quizzes in easy to follow modules which can be completed in your own time. You will also attend a full-day practical training day in your nearest capital city where you will learn to operate a <2kg drone to the standard of the <7kg Remote Pilot Licence.


Once the one day training day is complete, the team at Droneit will issue a Certificate of Competency. Completion of the <2Kg Light Commercial Course will allow you get insured and to fly any multi-rotor <2Kg however you will still have restrictions to further exemptions (e.g. flying at night) and the ability to fly in controlled/restricted airspace (e.g. near helipads, airports etc). 


In order to get access to flying in these controlled/restricted areas and exemptions, the full Commercial Course (RePL) is required to be completed. Droneit also offers this course and your <2Kg Light Commercial course will be applied as financial credit towards your RePL licence if you decide to upgrade along with the hours accumulated during your full-day flight training.

This course covers optional theory modules from the Remote Pilot Licence (RePL), specifically designed to cater to your requirements for operating in Australia.


The 2 kg Commercial Course provides convenient online theory modules, including instructional videos, manuals, access to supplementary resources, and quizzes. These modules are designed to be easily comprehensible and can be completed at your own pace. Additionally, you will participate in a comprehensive full-day practical training session at one of our many flight training locations. During flight training, you will learn how to operate a drone weighing less than 2 kg to the same standards as the 7 kg RePL.
